But let’s not stop there because one of its most recent achievement will bring color to life. That’s right, color blind people can now see color for the fist time.
According to a research from Color Blind Awareness website, approximately 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women in the world are color blind. That means that they can’t see colors as they are, for you to have an idea, take a look at the images below, this is some of the affects color blindness can have on people.
Now that you have an idea how color blind see the world, you can probably understand how amazing would be if they could see the full extent of colors, right? So without further ado, we present EnChroma’s glasses, it allows color blind people to experience colors they have ever know existed.
The improvement is remarkable. As you will see in the video below, people are truly happy with the changes. But the funny thing about the glasses is that it all happen by accident. Donald McPherson, co-founder of EnChroma explains that the product was originally intended to be a laser safety eyewear for surgeons.
They only discover this other property when one of McPherson’s friends who is color blind put on the prototype. He saw a variety of colors, something he has never seen before. And just like that, a new product had emerged. McPherson decided to take the opportunity and produce a product that could benefit others with this condition.
The EnChroma glasses has since reached many people; it is a real life changer for those who have never seen colors in its entirety. In particular for kids; it can broaden their sight and help improve their development at school.
Seen color is so normal for most of the population that we take it for granted. But watching videos of people seen colors for the first time change this.
