The people’s Pantone, officially the Humanae chromatic inventory, is an ongoing project created by Angelica Dass where she is attempting to create a color system using only human skin to create a universal catalog of the human color.
Excerpt from Angelica Dass website:
Humanae is a chromatic inventory, a project that reflects on the colors beyond the borders of our codes by referecing the PANTONE® color scheme. The project development is based on a series of portraits whose background is dyed with the exact Pantone® tone extracted from a sample of 11×11 pixels of the potrayed’s face. The project’s objective is to record and catalog all possible human skin tones.
Even though I know they don’t exist, I would love to get my hands on a Humanae color pallette rule. That would be the icing on the cake for this project. Brilliant idea!
