Claire’s parents are both deaf, so from an early age, she learned sign language in order to communicate with mom and dad. Claire is used to it, but when Christmas time came, she really wanted her parents to be-be able to understand her kindergarten concerto.
With that in mind, she decided to sign all the songs so they could both enjoy the concert too. Claire’s mom, Lori can read lips, but her husband can’t, so it was really heartwarming for the pair of them when she started to signed the songs.

You can see the five-year-old at the center of the video below, she is the adorable blond girl, singing, signing and making the cutest face expressions throughout the recital. Her parents were very thoughted by her kind and selfless act as she explains:
“Claire used sign language in the play because she was considerate of us and wanted us to understand the lyrics to the song.”
Lori also said that the community of Koda (Kids of Deaf Adults) are equally touched and reaching out to Claire’s parents to thank her for such a wonderful performance. This five-year-old is showing all of us what love is all about, and it should be a great inspiration for the rest of us.
